the fact of the matter is, a group buy for expensive items such as turbos, or a big brake kit shouldn't be up there (i think). there are LOTS of people that want it, but can't afford it. it would make a lot more sense to offer more GBs with lesser priced items. instead of 2 GB items, make it 4 or 5.

Haha a GB on a maintenance kit would probably be a popular buy. No doubt about that one. Hell, people would buy 2 or more to save in the future, too.

Just a thought, but how many people ended up buying the J-Spec front bumper? Less than 5? 4? 3? Yeah, it's what people want to see discounted but in the end, the funds aren't there and other buyers got screwed out of a discounted item that a dozen or more would have bought.

Seriously, the turbos are winning, but I'd like a number at the end of March on all the buyers...I bet it's a small number yet again.

I totally support the idea of the 3ZC store, but it seems kind of unfair that NA owners get the short end of the stick.

I think 1 group buy should be for TT items, and 1 should be for NA items.

That would only be fair.

1 item up there is NA specific, and that is the headers. 5 items up there are TT specific, and the other 4 are common to all 300ZX cars ( I included the pistons in this count as I'm sure pistons will be offered in both NA and TT compressions).

Seems a little one sided to me...

^^^good thought...yea that would be excellent...the demand will be there and I think that if an idea is 2nd, 3rd, 4th it should be considered for the next month as well...that way it will not be entirely necessary for the "make em pay" theme...you never know when something personal will come up that prevents an individual from providing necessary items...this way we can still have the best of both worlds...also an item that is not able to be done at a group buy should be put on a sticky list until such time as it can be done that way people can make an informed recommendation to get something that is able to put on a group buy up...let's not take for granted that we are extremely lucky to have this option to begin with...kudos to the 300zxclub "admin" and sponsors...thanks

well to me its says vote for them you want to SEE in the gb.... not what you'll buy!!! A set of Powertrix/SPL coilovers would be bomb, or a set of Tein Super Streets.

Those are all in the 1k range before the GB price.

Most people don't need Topline-Aragosta/Zeal coilovers. So a group buy on $3000 coilovers probably won't go over well with the masses.

AMS is 4 hours away from here, I already paid international shipping charges for something that is made in the same province as me, and now i'm apparently going to get stuck with border charges... just curious why this would be? I realize z1 is the american distributor for AMS, but AMS is a site sponsor aswell, so shouldnt they have been the ones mailing that out to me, saving me on both shipping AND customs clearance and border charges?

The GB prices are now up. The price on the GT675RS kit was adjusted to reflect regular retail price that our vendors sale for. As you can see there are now significant savings either way.

They actually were shipped from several locations dependent on who had ample stock and could get them out the quickest. Your order was shipped with-in a couple hours of being placed and is in transit. There is nothing we can do to stop it now. If anyone thinks it's a potential issue for them just ask about it before placing an order and we will be happy to let you know.

2nd. But! it's more beneficial to save more on larger items (which are probably marked up more to the average consumer), rather than save 20 bucks on a pair of floor mats.

I'm not saying floor mats are a waste of a GB, I'm saying that its more beneficial to buy your major parts at 150 bucks off, than buy floor mats at 20 bucks off.

I could justify spending 20 more on floor mats, if I knew I was going to save lets say 150-200 on coilovers.

They might be nearly identical on top, but they certainly are not underneath. The Z1 floor mats have a different rubber back on them than the oem mats. Instead of having the rubber "fingers" that sink into the carpet to keep them from sliding around, like the OEM Nissan mats, the Z1 mats look to be very smooth on the bottom. I hope I am wrong, but they look like they would slide around, & never stay where they are supposed to. If that's the case, the oem mats are worth the extra money just for that simple fact. There's nothing worse than floor mats that won't stay where they are supposed to.

OEM mats are no longer available except for a few that dealers still have a few in stock. Our mats are cut to fit in place perfectly which helps keep them in place. They are smoother on the bottom than OEM mats but still stay in place surprisingly well. We are not claiming they stay in place as well as OEM but they don't slide around like some of the aftermarket junk we've seen before either. We used them in our personal Z32's for a while before selling them just to make sure.

I keep a brand new set of OEM in the trunk and only use them for show. The rest of the time I use my old mats. In my 350 I keep a set of cheap mats and again only use the AE mats for show.

Problem is that Nissan, unlike a lot of the other vendors, could care less how many you are buying there is still a certain price that the dealers have to pay. There are not large margins in the tail lights or headlights over what a lot of the vendors and online dealerships are already selling those items for. We are trying to stick with Group Buys that we can offer significant savings to the members on, as opposed to what the items can be purchased for anywhere else.

There is a reason why only certain choices are listed each month. There have been lot of requests for some other particular items to add to the choices. We accomodated many of those in the current voting, however that did mean including some items that we are not going to be able to offer at the same magnitude of discounts as some of the other past GB products. For instance TEIN has a set price on coilovers which they sell to TEIN dealers regardless if they buy one set or a hundred sets. Obviously the dealers do have some margin that they can offer a discount on, but not a tremendous amount. Our supplier will simply be taking a hit on their margins on the basis of volume. We want to provide everything our members are looking for, however please understand that some items are much better suited than others. We will do our best to make these decisions in your best interest.

We all know a lot of the NA guys aren't willing to fork out the money only to spend twice as much getting them installed. I'd like to see the Brembo brake package? More suspension options? Sup Players lets get some suspension parts on these group buys. Control arms are a good idea as a lot of us with suspension could really use a deal on the rest of the suspension parts. I think a good group buy on a clutch would be for the APS carbon carbon Twin disc, will handle all the power you could could throw at it with the feel and modulation of a stock clutch and its rebuildable. My current 6-puck is a "pain" the drive around town, and when getting the car serviced the guy pulling it into the garage always stalls it at least once!

There probably isn't going to be enough interest in a 3" exhaust system for a GB.

If you're going to put a 3" system together piece-by-piece, it's actually better to start with downpipes and testpipes, rather than the cat-back. Also, such an upgrade is only really needed if going for a rather large turbo setup...more of a specialized product than a GB item (IMO).

Unless you're making a beast, vote for the B&B that's on the list this month.

ld love a group buy on ESCORT racing front facia. Theirs looks very similar to the '99 JSPEC with a tastefull lip on the bottom and the tag bracket is already eliminated, ...at a lower price than the 99 as well. The only downside is its FRP instead of Urethane, but for a group-buy price I can compromise. :-)
