Secondly - we have confirmed Tom Cruise's Z and the 1200HP Paul Newman 280zx will be at the event AND the 280zx will be doing some laps at the NSS Track!!!
Thirdly - we'll be announcing a few additional special guests from Nissan's past...stay tuned!!
Fourth - EARLY REGISTRATION closes in ONE WEEK. If you have NOT registered, do so NOW to get in at the discounted amount!

Soooo for the Drift exhibition... Is it free? I see nothing for it on the registration page. And is a cage/suit required? Will there be a tire mounting machine? etc?

Drift exhibition is just that - an exhibition, not a driving event. Anyone may spectate for free. As spectators aren't drifting, you do not need a cage in your car nor fire-suit to watch. :)
It's an opportunity to see some high-powered cars slide sideways while the AutoX is running.

Our travel plans out of Texas:
-Leave San Antonio Sunday July 25th and head to Dallas for Mad Mike Party
-Leave Dallas on Monday July 26th and head straight to Nashville
-Leave Nashville on Tuesday July 27th and head to the Tail of the Dragon. Stay in the Mountains Tuesday night.
-Leave the Tail on Wednesday after lunch and head back to Franklin for the ZCON opening reception.
FYI- There are 3 groups heading out of the Dallas area. On Monday we leave and do the drive in 1 shot. Mad Mike also leads a group out on Monday but they will be towing cars so they plan to arrive on Tuesday to Nashville. A third group plans to leave Tuesday and do a straight drive.

Wondering if all the terrible flooding down there will effect the events for Zcon? I know its a couple months away but the flooding has caused a lot of damage.

Nashville was hit pretty bad, but the areas where everything is taking place are not affected. The areas that were bad were the surrounding areas that are surrounded with rivers and other smaller streams. Downtown Nashville should go back to its normal operations within a short period of time. This will be way before July 28th. If anyone is driving from out of state and wants to meet somewhere in Nashville, let me know. I suggested before to have a meet at my house.

Got it all payed for and everything a couple days ago. Have yet to receive an email confirming that my registration is now all complete. Leaving Houston a couple days before. Maybe the 25th and driving it one shot in the night. Girlfriend wants to do some siteseeing and stuff before so i made a couple days for her. Can't wait for the time to come. This is going to be awesome. In the excess hotel as well by the way. :D

That reminds me, on the Adam Carolla Show sometime in May, Adam had mentioned they (Nissan?) were talking about shipping his Paul Newman (85?) 300ZX race car to the convention too. Any update on this?

This will be my first National Z convention so I'm very excited! A few questions:
- will there be a place to wash our cars at the convention hotel or nearby? I imagine all those traveling some distance will want to clean there Zs once they get settled.
- Is the Saturday night banquet formal dress?
- Do any celebrities ever come out to these events such as movie starts or musicians who might own Z cars?
Thanks!

Yes on the car wash. I actually was asked to DJ the event which is wed. from 12 to 5 at the host hotel parking lot.
Not sure on the formal dress
I used to be a celeb/musician and own a Z, lol if that counts.

Normally business casual is the appropriate attire for the Closing/Awards banquet.

What is the attendence like?
I have never been to one and trying to convince my friends to go, but couldn't find how big the turns outs usually are.
What was it like in the past years?

Hundreds. Regional Z events here net 100+ regularly and this is the national convention we are speaking of...and being held at Nissan's headquarters. In other words, if you question whether this one is worth the trip, there would be no point in going to any of them.

I live in Nashville and would love to drop in to see the show cars Saturday morning at the Nissan Head office.
Is it possible to just walk in or do you need to be registered ??

There will be a drift exhibition in the Nashville speedway parking lot Friday morning. I know there will be $20 ride alongs in V8 powered G35's and a skyline. Should be others as well. Z1 is helping to make it happen and will be open to the public.
The car show on Saturday is also supposed to be open to spectators.

Thanks Chuck
I'll be working Friday, but I'll try to make it down to Nissan headquarters Saturday morning before it gets too hot out. I found this new post under the registration tab on the Zcon2010 site.
NOTE: You MUST be registered in order to participate in Convention Events. You will not be permitted to participate in events (except as a spectator at the Car Show) unless you are registered.
I'd say that answers my question.
