Figured I'd post some pics of the BZF and the trip there. This was the most eventful trip yet. Day 1 & 2 went pretty smooth, then it got interesting.

Starting out on the Friday before the event..........

I didn't make it very far before having to drain some coffee

Hitting I-5 from the high desert

We headed to Frisco and over the Golden Gate Bridge
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day1075.jpg

I hadn't cruised up the coast in 20 years or so and thought it was time. Twisties-a-plenty. Hours and hours of fun

After spending the night in Ft. Bragg, CA, we continued up into Oregon.

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day2017.jpg

After turning inland for a bit, we hit up a little tourist trap.

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day2035.jpg

And back to the coast.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day2111.jpg

We eventually turned inland over a mountain range to Corvallis, OR where we met up with Rockchucker. Coming from the desert life, seeing green life is awesome.

Was that your Red Pearl Vert that threw the belt out by the ferry?? I was the guy in the black TT that stopped to see if you guys needed help.

First off, many thanks to Cory, his sister and family for putting us up for the night. If you know Cory, you know his sister. Great people in the NW. Day three started off in a beautiful settings of the OR mountains and a log cabin, errrrr uhhhhh, log mansion.

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day2136.jpg

We started day 3 with a trip over the Cascade mountains. The chosen road turned into a rally.

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day2174.jpg

After burning off a tank of gas, we stopped in the town of Burns, OR for fuel and lunch. After that, our plans to cover 742 miles in 13 hours went to hell. About 60 miles out was our 2nd stop for what we thought was a clogged fuel filter.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day2186.jpg

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day2190.jpg

After numerous other stops, we finally made it to the interstate and into Idaho. Eventually Corys car wouldn't go anymore. We decided to pull off and do something. We pulled off and into this random parking lot, and started busting up laughing, thinking we were going to need to drain the fuel tank.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day2211.jpg

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day2223.jpg

Our 13 hour day was turning into a 20 hour day. At this point in time, I didn't have any problems. we were thinking that Cory had the smaller aftermarket fuel filter and it was clogging faster than my OEM filter. After draining the tank, we filled up and continued on. We made it maybe 30 miles before things went bad again. We continued on in 20 mile increments, stopping to clean the filter. About 100 miles out of Ogden, my car started acting up, and by the time we got to the motel, my car wouldn't go over 40 mph. We got to the motel at 2:30 a.m. They do keep the lights on at motel 6.

On day 4, I went and installed a new fuel filter, filled up with gas and we were off. Needless to say the fuel filter wasn't the problem. With full tanks of gas, we decided to try and make some miles to burn the gas off before stopping and pulling the pumps. It ended up taking us 9 hours to go 270 miles. Sometimes going only 5 miles before stopping. Once we decided that we were stopping at the next available motel, it took us 4 hours to get there.

Lotsa chuckerass, this time at the continental divide.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day4017.jpg

Finally we found a motel in Rawlins, WY. We were supposed to be 500 miles down the road in Lincoln, NE
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day4024.jpg

We started on my car first. Excuse the fuel leak.

He definitely had the worst of it........
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day4036.jpg

That's alot of crap.........
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day4038.jpg

All buttoned up, we ordered Dominos and alcohol.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day4047.jpg

Now to get back on schedule, we needed to do 1,050 miles the next day.

Day 5 started out on a positives note. we filled our gas tanks 1/2 full in anticipation of having to drain them again. We made it to Laramie, WY without any problems and filled the tanks full after that.

As we entered Nebraska and the roads flattened out, we cranked up the noise. We cruised through 2 full tanks of gas running 90 - 100 mph with Cory's radar detector on the alert.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day5005.jpg

As we were approaching Lincoln, which was supposed to be our prior nights stop, we saw we were approaching a storm. I'm usually like "cool", I wanna see a funnel cloud.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day5013.jpg

As we roll on we see some of the nastiest rain, lightning and thunder that I've seen in a long time. L O L, we see about 20 of these storm chaser vehicles going the other way on the interstate. I then wonder if I'm going in the wrong direction. As we proceed into the storm, we hear on the radio ...... seek shelter, take cover, stay away from windows. It went from light rain to heavy rain to hail in about 2 minutes. Once the hail started we tried to stop under a bridge. No room. We head to the next bridge while getting pelted by hail. No room again. Quick thinking Cory pulls forward and backs into the grass under the bridge. We seek shelter from the winds. The lightning is striking right over out heads.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day5024.jpg

That's not moisture on the camera lens. That rain and hail blowing on us.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day5025.jpg

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day5044.jpg

While we waited for the storm to move on, we had a beer and enjoyed the show.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day5035.jpg

No more pics of day 5. But we rolled on from our stop, and about 30 miles down the road, we heard the "seek shelter" advice on the radio again. Something about a tornado in the town of Seward and it's crossing the interstate between exits 368 & 386. Coincidentally, we pulled off again at exit 370. A sign at the exit said "Seward", 1 mile north. Just great!!!!!!

We waited a bit and the storm moved east. We rolled again, and basically drove in the tail end of it for about and hour. We finally turned south in Iowa.We could see the storm going east.

As we went south through Kansas City, then east on I-70, we could see the winds and lightning picking up again. That same damn storm was barreling down on us again after we passed it up. Same thing again on the radio ..... "seek shelter, take cover". Damnit. We raced that bitch to Columbia, MO, then headed south and outran it.

We were still on the road as day 6 rolled around. Stopped for gas in Rolla, MO
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day5049.jpg

And got to the Z graveyard around 2:30 a.m.

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day5063.jpg

After some chatting and a coupla drinks, we all slept for a few hours. I slept on the hood of a dead Z under the stars. Later in the day we headed off for Branson, and had lunch along the way with some Z buds.

i'd love to do this cruise with you guys next year, but 2 problems stand in the way:
1) i'll be about 2 months from graduating UTI at the time of BZF 2011, and 2) as it stands, my Z wouldn't even survive day one this cruise.

time will tell =)

looks like a damn good time, even with the fuel issues. i think when problems like that arise on a cruise, it really puts the owner/driver to the test to see if they really know their stuff.

Day 7 was the Peel Ferry cruise. Highways 286, 125 & 160 are a blast.

As we got across the lake, and waited for the second load, Steve took off to get back to BZF registration. Shortly after, we got a call that Steve was broke down. Chris went to help, and as the second group of cars arrived, we took off to help Steve.

Vid from the ferry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Hv6HxyxGrg

On Day 8, which was Friday, we did the Eureka Springs cruise that included a stop for lunch and a wedding.

Jared and I decided to take a more scenic route. We went maybe 30 miles farther and arrived 10 minutes later than the group.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/canyoncarverZ/BZF%2010/BZF10Day7007.jpg

This was my fourth year to Branson, yet the first time I actually saw the town of Eureka Springs. It's a neat little place.

We did another little cruise on the way back from Eureka Spring. Ended up out in the farmlands. After this cruise, Cory ended changing his fuel pump when we got back to Branson.

Day 9 was the car show. Most of the pics are covered by other. I sat on a hill by the hotel, tinkering with the zoom on my camera.

At a planned break point, Jamal pulled up with a malfunctioning shifter. He fixed that and we rolled on to finish the cruise.

Thanks for the H Hwy vid. I can't believe after all the years i've rode dirtbikes there at the Chadwick area off of H and all the times i've been on 125 and 160 in the Z that I never went all the way down H. Tried it today and thought it was great.
