My shop just bought some of them. I'm thinking about snagging one before they realize the market value of them. It'll be great for track runs and EVERYTHING else. Very rugged camera. There is a thread on here about a Chevy Silverado SS racing a C06 IIRC. He used a GoPro and hit like 180 (again IIRC) and it stayed stuck on the side of his truck. Even if he only hit 100... thats a lot of wind.

O.K., here's one. This is the post ferry, Peel Ferry cruise vid. There's not much to get a perspective from. A following vid will show some 55 mph speed for reference. I've given up on the GoPro sound quality.
The shifts that you hear are all from 4th to 5th and back.

OMG..I have a ton of great vids with no sounds. Still have not even really made it home from Branson. Well I made it home but have not had any time to screw around and post.
I have a nice one of me almost meeting the 75 foot ravine with the snakes in the river when my Brakes faded. Just ask Mitch Farm_Z32 dude....He went along for the ride.....
F@#cker left a shitstain in my seat.

Here's the vid of the last Z fest cruise, except for the cruise home. The only perspective on speed is from 4:30 - 5:30 where we slowed down to around 55 mph for a bit behind a local. Also, before the turnaround, we did 55 for a short but.

I'm looking forward to seeing those. He rode my ass the whole way, should be interesting. I kept my distance, you kept bombarding me with pebbles, so I stayed back.... lol... looks like Cory kept his distance from you too.

Here is the vid before the ferry. Hwy 286 to 125 north. It was hard to crop down to 10 minutes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Hv6HxyxGrg Going at a pretty good clip there. Looks to be pretty flat and straight - most of it.

Is that Jamal or Chris in Goldie playing catch-up the whole way?

Its far from flat and straight, the camera doesn't capture it the way it is when looking at it for real and driving it. Yes, the roads here still beat your precious tail of the mouse....err, dragon. The Peel Ferry cruise isn't the harshest one. The Eureka run is, as well as hwy H (I think thats the name of it). That's me, and staying so far back was intentional. I was being bombarded by rocks...

you guys need to cover the mic on the camera, this is mine up to 70, not a go pro but the same idea. if i left the mic exposed it was horrible wind noise.

I've got some in-car vids that aren't noisy at all, but I've given up on the outside vid sound.

^^^ I would have loved to have been there this year Keith. I had my leave approved for it too. But last minute pre-deployment training in Fort Drum NY, put a quash to it unfortunately. It's also squashed my chance at ZCon this year as well. The only other event I'll be able to attend this year is Z Nationals.
No real comparison to the two venues really. 2nd and occasionally 3rd gear switchbacks on the Dragon place a lot of demand on brakes, tires and suspenion. Although there's tons of other higher speed routes in the Smokey Mountains that may compare to Branson's venue. I think Andy might be able to make a fair comparison of the two though.
Still, an event like this is still plenty worthwhile just for the sheer camaradarie alone.

where is the mic on the camera? i used a zip tie to cover the mic on mine. i tried behind the mirror, on the cowl, in front of the mirror, then decided to cover the mic and that is what i got.

There is a gasket that is removed to get any sound, yet it's no longer water tight. I think it's just the design of the camera and case. When I mount the camera inside the car, out of the wind, the sound isn't near as bad.
I have a point-and-shoot with vid too. It has better video and sound. The focal length on the GoPro is like 3 feet, hence the lack of video depth.
