Blaaah. Rebuilt my TT motor last year, heads were machined wrong, had to take it all apart. Got it up and running last weekend, but bad vacuum leaks, have to replace lower intake manifold gaskets. Pulled timing belt back off last night. Lol. Its been a loooooooooooong year. Check out my build thread and garage for mods and story. Haven't updated in the last 2 weeks because of all the work I've been doing. Very frustrating

My goal was to get a budget supercar.

I narrowed my search down to the 300zx Z31.

I found a unfinished project car that already had the JWT Kit.
I researched and found used parts from other people parting cars on
You can put together a 400+ Hp car for a decent price

    1986 300zx turbo w JWT 450= $1800
    Holset HX35W turbo eBay = $230
    87' 30A tranny + LSD = $700
    Apexi N1 exhaust = $75
    3" full exhaust = $600
    XXR 521 18x9.5 18x10 = $600
    Used G35 tires = $300
    KGB adjustables z3r springs = $800
    New. Bushings all around. $150

Just keep searching and hunting for deals. It is not an easy task to keep going with a project car but never give up.

OOh, did you swap it out, or do you want me to see if my friend still has his? I'll ask him anyway. I'm going up to WI next week so I could bring it back. And I'm hoping I can take the Z!

Rofl you replied on your own wall. I've been wondering why you never responded to my last post. I can get my hands on an OBDII scanner and I have the OBDI either way we can figure out what the problem is. I'll do some research tomorrow and let you know what I come up with.

It's the BRAKE light, Battery Light, and the other brake lights and they come up at the same time. Nothing happens when they go on, my car runs normal except the A/C doesn't work and it's been like this for 5 months. The lights go off sometimes when I'm driving on the highway, it's weird. And my car is OBDII I think since it's a 96 but when my friend scanned it nothing came up because he didn't have the adapter. But he also said I had an OBDI port too. It's weird.

What lights are they? Does your ECU throw any codes? What happens when the lights go on?

I've got datascan + OBDI cable to help diagnose, although if it truly is the alternator it might not show anything. My buddy up in WI might still have his old alternator if you wanna try it.
