Thanks. After searching through more threads, I figured it out within 5-10 minutes of posting. It temporarily torqued me, since I work in a rough part of town, and the alarm was honking the horns & flashing the lights for over 5 minutes (until I unhooked the battery).

just use the key in the door that you opened that set the stock alarm off and relock it. that should reset the stock alarm. sometimes they can be finiky when you open a door from the inside without sticking the key in the door itself like if you have a window down.
