ZCON 2012 Coming to the West Coast!
 

OK, I know ZCON 2011 just wrapped up, that's clear across the country for me. As much as I'd have loved to go, it was outta the question, so I look forward to the pics of how it went down over there.

On a brighter note, (and I know this has been floating around for a bit) ZCON 2012 will be held in Arizona! So I'm definitely looking forward to this, as it's going to be my first major Z event I will attend. I can't wait to caravan over there with the West Coast Zs, it' gonna be epic!

I've got a lot to do to get the Z ready, so I'm already orchestrating a battle plan. Gotta make sure to put some vacation hours to the side as well, because I plan on staying for the duration of the event!

Dam Georgia would have been an 18 hour ride! Arizona is like twice that FML! haha! But hopefully 2012 is an even better year and I can make it and be able to witness how the west coast does it :D

Arizona.......simply..... is going to be amazing.

The track day will be at Bondurant Racing and there is a Nissan Test Track in Phoenix as well. Seen pictures of the hotel resort and it's a stone throw away from Scottsdale which is party city. There is the longest and largest car show in the United States on that Saturday. Just going to be amazing all around.

I can't wait for Pre-registration to open up.

They let it slip at the banquet Friday night about the possible bids for the 2013 event... Looks like the current contenders for the event includes:
- San Diego Z Car Club
- New Hampshire Z Car Club

You might get lucky in 2013 with an event really close for you.

Since no one has mentioned the dates-> ZCON 2012 September 18-22, Phoenix, AZ.

And with this said....look for the 2012 Z Nationals event having a slight shift in date to accomodate for this. We have not decided which way the event will move yet.

New Hampshire would be awesome but I always wanted to see how the west coast did it lol. If I am better off, money wise, Hells to the yea im driving the z to the west coast lol.

I thought it was Sep 18-23? Maybe I misread/ was misinformed.

Makaofox, you might get super lucky, West coast for 2012, then right up the street (New Hampshire) the following year!!! I wish I was that close lol.

Could be until the 23rd but looking at the last couple of conventions that last weekend date is usually some sort of "Cup Party" that very few stick around for.

With proper timing that caravan could be pretty cool.

Z1 Nats-> Dallas-> El Paso meet up with those coming from Houston->SA/Austin->El Paso.

Confirmation on the details as a member of this site and a local Z32 owner/enthusiast is on the board...heres the info. Details are of course open to change as things get more official:

The dates have officially been set: September 18 – 23, 2012 so mark it on your calendars!

The days should look something like this:

9/18 - Tuesday – Registration
9/19 – Wednesday - Registration & Self Guide and Guided Tours
9/20 – Thursday - Track Events - Bondurant
Guided and self tours
Don Rice Show (Hypnotist)
9/21 – Friday - Car show
9/22 – Saturday - Nissan test facility visit
Banquet
9/23 – Sunday Autocross
To Go Gathering (Closing Event)

We should add a Drag Racing event, since the fastest Z cars are from the West.

^ I'm hoping for an epicly massice caravan from cali... LAZ32, BayZA, NorCal guys plus Washington and Oregon! I could die happy at the sight of all those Zs on the same freeway at the same time

They try to alternate ZCons from east to west of the Mississippi, so it's unlikely 2013 will be in San Diego.

Bondurant School is at Firebird Raceway.

I must have skipped the part where the resort is, but everything is a hop skip and a jump away. I would say that party central is Tempe and Mill Ave, but Scottsdale does have a downtown nightlife.

National Z Car Convention is a show that you should do at least once.
