2012 Z Nationals Caravans
 

No one else seemed to have started a caravan thread yet so I figured I'd get it going. If you have never participated in joining a caravan of Z's going down the highway dont miss your chance.

As of today I know that there is a group of Z's heading out of northern Va. area on thursday oct. 4. Hopefully Deadking can help with specifics.

I have a group from Va. Beach,Fredricksburg and Richmond Va. leaving early friday oct.5 morning. We will be heading down interstate 95 south to Florence SC and then will take I-20 west thru Atlanta. Its about 30 miles longer this way versus taking I-85 but you dont have to go thru the bigger cities that you do on 85, plus you get to stop at South of the Border for your fireworks fix. If anyone is on our route and wants to join us along the way please send me a PM.

Walkie talkies are great to have when joining a caravan.
Please add to thread if you have any details on other area caravans headed to Z Nats.

you guys should meet up with some of the Z atlanta groups on the 5th at like 8am... we will meet some where down town atlanta probably at the varsity but not sure cause we arnt alowed to have car meets there any more but i dont think this the same thing... let me know if you can or want to ...and ill get more info

Ok slight change in plans. My group out of Richmond is going to leave around 7pm thursday night and drive halfway to Charlotte NC. There will be one from Va Beach area coming that night as well for anyone in that area. I wont be able to sleep that night anyways so might as well get some miles behind us. Plan on leaving Charlotte around 9 or 10am, Greenville SC around 11:30 and coming thru Atlanta by 2ish. Anyone in those areas that want to join that next morning just shoot me a PM and get a walkie talkie. Those with radar detectors are encouraged to join!!!!! :}

If you change your route again and are planning on doing the I-95 to I-20 deal again, let me know, the Charleston and Columbia members of our local club will be leaving out on Friday the 5th at around 9:00A.M. (From Columbia) and hitting ATL area around the 1-2 time frame.

I aam coming from the other direction down I-65 from Huntsville AL, then east on I-20 to Z-1.

Coming down very early Saturday (6th) morning...Maybe I will run into some Z-folks on the I-20 run,

Thinking of actually staying in Atlanta instead, so if i'm not going over to z1 for early registration on friday i may be leaving a bit later.

We are still a go for leaving Richmond Va. Thursday night at 7 and getting a room in Gastonia NC( outside Charlotte) . Will get up friday morning and continue to Carrolton Ga. Come join our merry band of Z's caravaning down the highway.

I will be heading up Friday from Montgomery, AL...I'd love to catch up with or meet anyone coming up from Louisiana, Mississippi, or South Alabama....and I have a Valentine 1 radar detector too...it's going to be a fun trip!

As Jim mentioned...our original plan still stands. We hope to be on the road no later than 9:30am. Anyone that thinks they will be able to meet up with us, text me @ 803-608-0945 to see where we are.

Can't wait to see a hotel parking lot full of Z's.
