OP, welcome to the site.
to answer 2nd or 3rd or W/E yes. you'll learn alot and be able to show/question talk about YOUR car when you need to reference something specific. (IE- i have this bracket bent this way...)
did you make it to the big VA nissan meet? i went to HS in VAbeach and am up there probably once a month from NC.
