Good price point on the V2 floor mats. I bought a pair myself and can't wait to install them after I've overhauled the Z.

I will probably get a set of the matts my self, i wonder how much of a difference the Brembo 350Z Brake Rotor Upgrade would make ?

Considering they are bigger than stock, im sure quite a bit. I have upgraded to the AMS bbk and they stop way faster for sure

Picked up the bushings and the Z1 temp sensor elbow. Needed em anyway. Wish the floor mats were available in tan. Mine are pretty tired.

I'm running stock TT wheels with 25mm spacers in the fronts.
Anyone know if there would be any issues fitting those Brembo rotors with my stock setup?

Re: New Group Buys now posted in the 3ZC Store.

There is a typo in the Brembo page:

By using the stock 350Z/G35 Brembo brake rotors, you are using the thickess possible rotor that will fit within the stock caliper.

No, 350Z brembo rotors are 12.75", they won't fit stock TT wheels, you'll need at least 17" wheels.

That's a deal on the mats, I'm going to pick those up. I still have a set of the old-style Z1 mats, brand new in the packaging; will have to get rid of those I guess!

That's in your head.

The change in stopping power would be negligible, if any change at all. Real-world this is purely a cosmetic mod, despite any performance claims. They do look great, but that should really be your only reason for buying them. If you are looking for better stopping power on a budget, you would be much better off buying SS lines and more aggressive pads.

Stopping power is more about leverage than any other single factor. In respect to stopping power, the larger rotor the better. The further the pads are from the center of rotation the better the leverage and the more stopping power. Not to mention the larger rotors also dissipate more heat. It takes less force to stop the car, generating less heat which the larger rotor is capable of absorbing more and dissapating quicker. If you've ever tracked a Z with stock rotors you know that heat is is a serious issue and limiting factor. Not only will the larger rotors stop your car in less distance (given the same pads) but they will continue to perform when a stock brake system goes south due to overheating.

I understand the theory, I just believe that any performance differences between stock and this rotor would be minimal at best in a real-world environment. I still say that for the money, if performance is what you are after, SS lines and upgraded pads will be far more effective in improving your stopping distance than bigger rotors. We can agree to disagree.

Yesterday, driving the Z with front SS lines, 350Z track rotor, posi-quiet pads in rebuilt TT calipers and a Z1 brake brace; The brakes felt totally different.

Stopped WAY quicker than I'm use too. One weird thing is when I come to a full stop, I hear a sound that's hard to describe, and when I release the pedal the sound occurs momentarily again. My best guess is the pads haven't fully seated with the new rotors yet, so it's a unique rubbing sound to say the least. I don't hear any other sounds otherwise.

It isn't a theory. It's an undeniable law of physics. However these rotors are not tremendously larger than stock and of course the benefit is proportional to the size difference. This upgrade is sold independent of pads and lines, and that's not what we are comparing here. Given the same pads and lines, there are significant gains in stopping power and brake system resilience to be had by going with a larger rotor. We would recommend a good set of pads and stainless lines with the Brembo 350Z set-up.

If all you do is drive on the street, then yes, there isn't much point. For those that track the car, this will help tremendously.

I picked up this kit, it's a no-brainer. This is a wonderfully cheap option before upgrading to a full kit.

Quite possible, for sure. Just seemed like a bit of a red flag to me since a huge amount was already spent on his recent brake fiascal. You'd think being budget conscious as he says, he'd get the most bang for the buck on his most recent brake expeditures for now and wait for an upgrade when it's time to repair/replace his current set-up due to being worn out or time to be replaced.
If I decide to upgrade my tires, I'm not going to do it when they're still almost brand new. I'm going to upgrade my tires when the current ones are worn out and need replacing. That's unless there's something inherently wrong or unsafe with the current condition. Does he have something that is currently wrong or unsafe with his brakes at present?

I just changed my oil out, and it only had 30 miles on it. I didn't like the Carquest 10w30 in there, and opted for a more preferable Rotella T6 5w40.

Sometimes ya just do stuff for the sake of the car; part of the gift/curse of loving your 300ZX lol
