I'm surprised this has not been posted here before now.

ZCON 2015 is being held the week of July 14th in Memphis, TN. and is being hosted by the Delta Z Club.

Check out http://zccazconvention.com/conventions/2015/?page_id=136 for more info. They have the events already scheduled and posted. Registration formally opens January 1, 2015.

To my recollection, this is the closest this event has ever been to to me (Kansas City) and this opportunity may not come up again. I'm going!!

I really plan on staying in the main Hotel...just cause, they are usually on the coasts and this is close....

Will be a first for me as to a national event....:rejoice:

After attending Zcon in San Diego this year I want to make it out to TN. I had a blast 4 days filled with Z's and beautiful san Diego was great! Memphis is a 5k drive round trip for myself. I feel flying wouldn't out with no Z would be boring. This year they have a track event!
I was so lucky to be able to meet the man who designed my Z32 and have her signed!!

I have always been impressed with the planning and organization that goes into a ZCON event. This event is 8 months away and they already have the website on, events planned, hotel information, etc.

Registration is open in about 2 weeks. I can't think of any reason not to go.

Hmmm, I may try and make that. Only about 6 hours away.

Could you think of someone else who could use lessons from zcon planners?

I've been to Phoenix and San Diego. ZCONs are a blast! Like you said, flying there without a Z may be a little boring. Would like to drive to Memphis but I'm not sure that I'll be able to.

I was looking at plane tickets last night, chances are I'm flying out.
Zless for a few days would be hard :(

If you're like most of us, you likely have friends on forums that span a wider geography...mention that you're looking to split a room, or find a passenger seat while at ZCON for the week... You might be surprised to find someone with a Z to help fill the gap of not having your own Z.

I can say from experience in San Diego (not having my Z's...I live in OH), that it was a fantastic (yet different) experience not having to clean or worry about my Zs during ZCON week.

I booked my hotel room today but am waiting to hear back about cancellation/refund policy. Before I pay for an event almost 7 months in the future, I want to be sure I can cancel with a refund if necessary.

BTW, the $109 hotel rate is a great deal. The rooms normally go for $149+.

Before you register for this, please Read and Heed the following!
Re. the cancellation refund policy, cancellations before March 31st will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations after that will not receive a refund.
Since I have no clue my schedule 6 months from now I am holding off registering until closer to the event.

I booked my room at the Hilton Memphis a few weeks ago, no deposit required. I think you can cancel a room up until 24 hours advance. It's the convention registration that has a more defined cancellation/refund policy. I'm not going to register for the convention until closer to the time as I'm not sure how many days I'll be able to stay.

A big group from my club (Ontario Z Car) plan to come. I expect we'll have 20 or so Z's there. Many of us went to Nashville in 2010 and Nashua 2013 and had a great time. Looking forward to Memphis!

I am hoping to go to this too! It's in my plan of 2015, but having to fly over from the UK, things don't always work out quite the way I hope. I had wanted to be in SD for it last year, but my schedule was a headache and I couldn't make it.

I did assure Chris Karl that I am planning on it!

Backing up what Hal said earlier, If you think there even a possibility you might go to this, I encourage you to book your room now. I have never been to a ZCON but my observation in past events indicate the host hotel books up and people have to scramble to find alternatives.

Be sure to ask the hotel about their cancellation policy.

Just a heads up.... I just finished my registration and it looks like the Judged car show and the People's Choice car show may already be full. I could have misread it but pretty sure they are no longer available. I'm driving from Peoria IL if anyone wants to caravan down. Hit me up with a pm.

I had a great time in Nashville and looking forward to Memphis!

Hi Guys - quick update...

Hotel cancellation - you have until a day prior to your reservation date.

Judged & People's Car Shows - there will be a limit on "Judged" as we physically can only get to ~125 cars. For People's it's virtually unlimited...we have plenty of space at the venue it'll be held for hundreds of Z's.

On the cancellation policy, yes, we need folks locked in so we can lock in with venues. In past, there was a "no refunds" policy as a general statement...the intent is not to keep folks' money, but rather make sure events are filling up with folks that will actually attend...sounds harsh, but we have to do it this way to ensure we don't pay the venues for folks that cancel last minute.

Good news - we're nearing our first 100 people registered, so get registered sooner than later. Early registration runs through 3/31 - get in sooner than later and DEFINITELY get your hotel booked. If we fill the block up I *May* be able to get us extended at the Hilton, but can't look at that until we fill what we already contracted for...

Attention: Motorsports participants!!!! Safety inspection sheet is on the "Motorsports" page off convention website (www.zcon.org) - get your vehicle in shape before Memphis. Unsafe vehicles will not be allowed to participate! Good brakes, tires, etc. are keys to having a good (safe) time at the events.

Hope everyone's staying warm - it's -25 with the wind chill here in OH at the moment!

Reminder - 3/31 is the end of early-registration. Save money by registering by 3/31.

Still looking for a reason to attend ZCON 2015? Here's an update:

"Great news - received word that Toshio Yamashita is planning to join us for ZCON 2015 in Memphis, TN. After Branson wraps, consider joining us in Memphis in July! smile emoticon

If you don't know him, Yama-san is the person responsible for the 300zx Z32 design - if you were in San Diego last August, you'll recall the amazing presentation he gave during our Awards Banquet with never-before-shared images of the car's development. He was one of three Z car designers who were able to make last year's event (Matsuo-san and Randy Rodriguez also honored us with their participation).

If you're a 300zx Z32 owner or just an enthusiast, you'll want to join us for an opportunity to meet Yama-san. Get a photo with him, a signature for your car or memorabilia (...or two) smile emoticon.

Yama-san is a considerable part of the Nissan Z car legacy and we're honored to have him consider joining us yet again this year."

I just registered for the Chili party, track day, and People's Choice Car Show.

I'll be driving down Monday, through St. Louis most likely, if anyone wants to meet up. I'll be leaving Sunday but not sure if coming straight back to Kansas City.
