The ZCCA International Z Car Convention is "designed" to move around the country. Clubs like Coastal Z Club volunteer to host the event in their given region. The idea has always been to allow different people across the US access to the event. Yes, there is a bid from the Desert Z club to host next year's convention which puts an event on the western side of the US.

If you're new to the ZCCA conventions, you may not realize that there have been many west-coast based conventions. Next year's will be the 25th (25 years of conventions...).

Location is all based on a club's willingness to host it. If a club in Hawaii wanted to host, it's possible (not sure how I'd ship my car...but you get the point).

We could have several west-coast conventions so long as west-coast clubs would volunteer to support/host the event.
